Microgreens – Healthy, Easy and Fun!

For the home gardeners, the prospect of growing food for your family may seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. During this presentation, Philip Agar, a budding urban farmer in Washington, DC will explain the who, what, where, why and how home gardeners can grow their own food. Mr. Agar will provide insights into methods of growing food indoors throughout the winter and will dive into how home gardeners can grow nutrient-dense and clean microgreens all-year round.
Philip Agar is a budding urban farmer who has used his expertise and passion to forward urban sustainability in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of American University where he received his B Sc. In Environmental Science. Philip has experience in urban forestry, beekeeping, mushroom farming, aquaponics, hydroponics, indoor farming and research. He has grown a wide variety of crops in soilless systems including but not limited to microgreens, lettuces, herbs, and berries. When he isn’t testing out new recipes in his kitchen, Philip can be found singing and writing songs with his friends.
