Designing a Chicken Friendly Backyard Lecture

Apr 6th @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Join us in Davidsonville as we welcome Heather Wheatley (CPH, CBLP, APLD) to Homestead Gardens as she explores the exciting world of integrating backyard chickens into your landscape design. Heather’s extensive plant knowledge is beneficial for all gardeners, regardless of chicken ownership, and we encourage all skill levels to attend this educational event.

This informative lecture will cover:

  • Creating a beautiful and functional space for both your plants and your feathered friends.
  • Selecting chicken-friendly plants that thrive alongside your coop.
  • Utilizing chickens for natural pest control and fertilization in your garden.
  • Designing a safe and secure run that enhances your outdoor aesthetic for free-ranging chickens

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a curious chicken enthusiast, this talk will equip you with the knowledge to design a chicken-friendly space to maximize the return of your investment.

The cost to attend is $5 — simply to hold your place. Homestead Gardens will return a $5 in-store credit to all attendees to use after the event.
