Calvert Cliffs State Park: Located on the eastern side of the Calvert peninsula and the west side of Chesapeake Bay, Calvert Cliffs State Park is perfect for adventure seekers. With spectacular cliff views, hiking, fishing and a beautiful beach, the whole family has something to enjoy in one of Maryland’s finest state parks. The Calvert Cliffs are also home to an abundance of fossils, making it a great place for kids to explore and learn about the region’s storied past.
Chesapeake Beach: Enjoy small-town charm and vast beaches with plenty of room for friends and family at Chesapeake Beach. Located in Calvert Country, the beach town is also home to a fun Railway Museum and Trail and a number of charter fishing tours.
Gunpowder Falls State Park: Truly a massive state park, Gunpowder Falls features 18,000 acres and more than 100 miles of trails. Come for the beautiful views and stay for all of the entertaining summer activities, such as hiking, biking, horse riding, flat- and white-water canoeing, swimming and fishing. Gunpowder Falls State Park is located in Northeast Baltimore County and is accessible via I-83, I-695 and I-95.
Inner Harbor: We’ve all been to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor at least once, but there’s something new to explore each time. Make sure to visit the National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center, Fort McHenry and all of the ships including USCGC Taney, USS Torsk and Lightship Chesapeake. Kids love walking around the ships and touring the interactive aquarium and science center.
